About the Author!
Marissa Tawney Thaler is an Author and Illustrator living in Lansing, MI. After graduating from Kendall College of Art and Design, she worked as a public school Art Teacher for 10 years before leaving to pursue illustration full-time.
During her time as an Elementary Art Teacher, the concept of Growth Mindset made waves in education. And, though students learned they could "grow their brain" and improve on tough things, she witnessed their continued frustration when faceing these struggles. Get that GRIT! was written to bridge that disconnect, aiming to give students a fun tool to practice perseverance.
